今年８月、中国政府は、国内再生可能エネルギー設備の導入総量が、初めて石炭火力発電設備総量（13.9億kw）を超えたことを発表した。２０２４年６月末時点で、風力、太陽光、水量発電設備の合計導入量は、それぞれ4.67億kw、7.14億kw、4.27億kwに達した。バイオマス発電設備を含め、中国再エネ発電設備総量は16.53億kw、国全体発電設備容量の53.87％に相当する量だ。２０２３年における風力と太陽光発電総量は、それぞれ8090億kwhと5833億kwhであり、併せて国全体発電量の１５％に該当する規模である。２０１８年の7.6％から、わずか５年で２倍以上に拡大したことになる。
