For Regional Collaboration in East and Southeast Asia towards Measurable Reduction in Plastic Wastes and Pollution

Hotta contributed as a panleist of the Side Event for INC-5 Plastic Pollution organized by Korean Environment Institute organized in November 2024 in Busan, Republic of Korea.

Objectives of this roundtable include:
1) Explore policy approaches to plastic pollution: Discuss and evaluate various policy
strategies to combat plastic pollution at national and international levels.
2) Highlight best practices: Showcase international institutions' contributions to addressing
plastic waste, highlighting successful projects and research findings.
3) Examine the global plastic pollution challenges and outlooks: Examine the current state of
global plastic pollution, future trends, and the long-term outlook for addressing this crisis.
4) Strengthen collaboration and dialogue among key stakeholders: Foster stronger
collaboration and dialogue among policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders to ensure
effective implementation of the Global Plastics Treaty.
