2022 年8月31日にインドネシアのバリで開催されたG20環境・気候大臣会合では、議長国インドネシアにより議長総括が取りまとめられめた。本ペーパーでは会合成果の主なポイント、課題、来年G7議長を務める日本に期待するリーダーシップについて記載している。

２０２２年３月２３日、中国国家発展改革委員会（日本の経産省相当）と国家エネルギー局の連署による「中国水素エネルギー産業発展中長期計画（２０２１年‐２０３５年）」が公開された。表に見るように、中長期計画は、５カ年を単位とした３つの計画期間によって区切られ、段階的な技術イノベーションの推進、産業サプライチェーンの構築を通じ、２０３５年までに「成熟した水素エネルギー産業体系の確立」を目指している。
