サステイナビリティ・サイエンスは21世紀の人類の存続にとっての重要な科学であり，2000年頃以降，その発展が行われるよう様々な試みが行われてきた。一方，2015年以降の環境政策は目指すべき社会ビジョンの更新を伴いつつ大きな展開を見せている。本稿では，そのような時代のニーズに適合したサステイナビリティ・サイエンスの展開を見据え，これまでのサイエンスの動向とサステイナビリティの概念の具体化の進展を確認したうえで，人間–地球環境システムの複雑性のもとでの理解と社会としての認知，社会目標の再考と将来継承性，人間–地球環境システムの転換の3つの観点から，人新世の時代におけるサステイナビリティ・サイエンスの展開を論じた。最終的にまとめた11の論点として，例えば，複雑な人間...

2023 年のＧ７サミットは、日本が議長国を務め、2023 年５月に広島で開催することが決定している。また、サミットの開催に合わせ、様々なＧ７関係閣僚会合が開催される予定であり、北海道札幌市において、環境省が経済産業省とともに、気候・エネルギー・環境大臣会合（開催予定日：2023 年４月15 日（土）～16 日（日））を開催する。本大臣会合に先立ち、令和５年１月から準備会合が開催された。 本業務では、これらＧ７会合（サミット及び大臣会合並びにその準備・関連会合）に関して、議論に必要となる資料の収集・分析、成果文書案の分析、報告書の作成等を行い、また同会合や準備会合等に関する技術支援等を行い、会合の成果が環境政策の推進に資するよう、業務を行った。

オンラインセミナー「循環経済とネットゼロ：ビジネスとくらしの大変革」
個人の行動変容と意識の向上により脱炭素（ネットゼロ）社会の実現を図ることに限界があり、循環経済を構築し、より循環型なくらしを浸透させるには、人びとの働き方やライフスタイルのルールを変える社会変革が必要であると説明しました。また、COVID-19の影響がこの傾向を増幅させていると示唆しました。具体的には、脱炭素（ネットゼロ）や海洋プラごみ流失ゼロといった長期目標を実現した社会の姿を皆で描き、そして、その実現に向けて市民の行動変容や政策介入に係る社会実験を行い、効果を検証する証拠を積み重ねていくことが肝要であると指摘しました。
