An interpretation of the recent trends in global environmental governance

The presentation was made at the Special Session on "Outcome of 11 th Regional 3R and Circular Economy Forum in Asia and the Pacific, Siem Reap, Kingdom of Cambodia", 3RINCs 2023. The presentation discusses that increasingly UNEA plays an inportant role in global environmental governance. Cosidering the role of Regional 3R and CE Forum in Asia and the Pacific as a regional dialogue mechanism for circular economy in Asia and the Pacific region, the presentation questions how to maintain the effectiveness of the forum. It discussed about the changing relations on environmental global governance since 2015, increasing influence of UNEA, possible coordination of many on-going international cooperation projects, harmonization of regional processes in Asia and the Pacific region.
