東京大学未来ビジョン研究センター･グローバルコモンズセンターの食 料バリューチェーンにおける環境負荷等の見える化プロジェクト活動を推進するために、 本業務では、ガーナにおけるカカオを対象とし、以下の調査・研究業務を実施した： ① 環境負荷と生産性：各種文献・レポートの調査からカカオ生産における重要な環境負 荷評価項目を特定し、環境負荷と生産性の観点から、複数の圃場の比較を通じて評価・ 分析し、生産性の高低の理由も明らかにする。 ② 社会・経済：高い生産性や一定の生産性を維持している地域・農家グループと、生産 性が低い地域・農家グループとの差異を、社会面・経済面の観点から（政府・企業・ 国際 NGO 等による支援・トレーニングの影響含め）、複数の地域の比較を通じて評 価・分析する。 ③...

本研究は、地球規模で喫緊の課題となっている気候変動と生物多様性保全の観点から、カカオ生産における森林減少の実態と、持続可能な生産体制構築に向けた課題を明らかにすることを目的とした。特に、日本にとって最大のカカオ供給国であるガーナを対象に、カカオ生産と森林減少の関連性を分析するとともに、生産現場における課題を把握するため質問票調査を実施した。 分析の結果、近年の天然林の減少が森林保護区と国立公園に集中していることが示された。このことは、カカオ生産による森林減少のリスクを評価する上で、生態学的観点のみならず、生産国の土地利用政策を考慮した総合的な検討が不可欠であることを示唆している。また、質問票調査の結果から、認証を取得している農家であっても...
