IGES as a Change Agent in Indonesia

The Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) is an international research institute headquartered in Hayama, Japan that conducts strategic policy research on sustainable development in Asia and the Pacific. Since its establishment in 1997, IGES has been an active player in environmental policy research in Indonesia. This paper describes some of our institute's more relevant research activities. Rather than simply summarizing individual projects, it offers an overarching narrative of how IGES works at the boundary of policy and practice on climate change and environmental sustainability as an "agent of change".
