The Asia-Pacific Synergies Report synthesizes experiences from the Asia-Pacific region on translating synergies into practical, policy-relevant lessons for national and subnational policymakers and other stakeholders. The report argues that synergies should be positioned as a core organizing principle in policies and actions toward 2030 and beyond. With its unique capacity for innovation and home-grown responses, the region demonstrates a wide range of synergistic solutions to climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution and other developmental challenges. Drawing on 36 featured case studies and more than 140 case studies compiled overall, the report highlights how synergistic approaches can address the interconnected challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution, enhance resilience, equity and resource efficiency, and accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals, with cities playing a critical role as delivery platforms for integrated action.

The report presents four entry points for advancing synergies: health-centred climate action, nature-positive nexus approaches, circular economy approaches and cities as delivery platforms for synergies. It emphasizes that synergies do not emerge in isolation but require an enabling environment supported by aligned finance, robust data and analytical tools, and effective governance arrangements. Regional cooperation plays a critical role in developing and implementing synergistic solutions and supporting the scaling of synergistic approaches from pilots to policy. By moving beyond fragmented responses and embedding synergies into policy, planning and investment decisions, the Asia-Pacific region can turn interconnected crises into a virtuous cycle of opportunities for transformation.
