平成27年９月に採択された「持続可能な開発のための2030アジェンダ（2030アジェンダ）」の中核をなす「持続可能な開発目標（SDGs）」は、途上国と先進国の分け隔てなく普遍的に適用され、2030年に世界が目指すべき姿が示されている。SDGsの達成に向けた進捗管理においては、「国連ハイレベル政治フォーラム（HLPF）」がその中核的役割を担うことになっており、毎年開催されるHLPFにて地域及び国毎のフォローアップ及びレビューが行われる。 　本業務は、平成30年７月９日から18日までアメリカ・ニューヨークで開催が予定されているHLPFにおいて、各国・国際機関等のSDGsの取組状況について情報収集を行うとともに日本からの出席者に対する現地での支援を行うことを目的とする。

　2016年5月、日本はＧ７議長国としてＧ７伊勢志摩サミット及びＧ７富山環境大臣会合を開催した。2017年はイタリアがＧ７議長国となり、5月にタオルミーナでＧ７サミットを、6月にＧ７環境大臣会合をボローニャで開催した。Ｇ７伊勢志摩サミット及びＧ７富山環境大臣会合で得られた成果は、イタリアでのＧ７サミット・環境大臣会合でも引き継がれ、気候変動、資源効率、海洋ごみ、エネルギー、持続可能な開発のための2030アジェンダ等の議題について、議論がなされ、最終的にG7コミュニケにまとめられた。 　本年はカナダがＧ７議長国となり、6 月にシャルルボアでＧ７サミットが開催される予定であり、Ｇ７環境大臣・エネルギー大臣会合(仮称)は10月頃に開催される見込みである。本年のＧ７サミット・環境大臣...
