2019年から2020年にかけて、英国をはじめとして、ドイツ、フランス、EU、中国、日本、韓国などの世界の主要国において、2050年までに温室効果ガス(GHG)排出量を正味ゼロにする目標（以下、ネット・ゼロ）が相次いで打ち出された。さらに、米国の次期大統領であるバイデン氏は選挙期間中に発表した公約の中で、2050年までにGHG排出ネット・ゼロを実現すると表明している。今や、ネット・ゼロを達成した世界をいかに展望し、そこにどのような道筋で到達するかに真摯に取り組む時代に突入した。 このような中IGESでは、2020年6月に研究レポート「ネット・ゼロという世界-2050年日本-」を日本国内では先駆けて公表した。本レポートをもとに、日本とアジアのネット・ゼロの世界像について記述した。

国連環境計画（UNEP）が発表した「Adaptation Gap Report 2020: Executive Summary」の日本語翻訳版（暫定非公式訳）。世界における適応の計画・資金・実施の現状を分析し、過去10年にわたり、各国による適応の取り組みに大きな進展があったことを示した。しかし、途上国への資金の不足や、効果的で適切なモニタリング・評価手法が確立していない点など課題も残っていることも明らかになった。そこで、適応の計画・資金・実施の規模をそれぞれ拡大していくため、さらなる野心度の引き上げが必要であることが示されている。また、社会的・環境的な様々な課題に貢献し得る「自然に基づく解決策（NbS）」にも適応の観点から焦点を当て、その計画・資金・実施の現状分析を行っている。全体として...
