　環境教育副読本「生ごみコンポストってすごい！」は、2013年5～8月、国立大学法人九州工業大学との共同企画により、地域の学童クラブの小学生を対象に開催した連続講座、ジュニア・サイエンス・スクール「五感で感じるごみ循環」（全３回）の副教材として作成した、IGES初のマンガ仕立ての環境教育冊子。家庭で野菜を育てようとしてうまくいかない親子が、「土の精」の助言によって、コンポストを使うことで野菜作りに必要な健康な土ができること、そしてそのコンポストは家庭の生ごみから作れることを学んでいく様子が、わかりやすいイラストで生き生きと描かれています。 　小学校低学年の児童にわかりやすく伝えるための工夫として、コンポストづくりに不可欠な微生物や土の中の生き物の働きについても触れるなど、「理科の実験...
