This document is a presentation given at one of the Thematic Tracks of ISAP2017. It introduced IGES-TERI efforts to promote environmentally sound technologies through a stakeholder’s matchmaking approach.

The presentation was presented at a training program on Japanese low carbon technologies and best practices which was held on 27 Sep.January 2017, Pune, India. It highlighted IGES-TERI efforts to promote LCT deployment in India with special emphasis on their efforts to initiate Japan-India Technology Matchmaking platform (JITMAP)

We showed the difficulty to realise sustainable living in terms of reduction of ecological footprint of final demand (EF_FD). In Japan, a high rate carbon tax effectively reduces carbon footprint of production (50% reduction from the base year), but EF_FD reduces much less (24.7% reduction by upstream carbon tax and 27.0% by midstream carbon tax)...

It introduced IGES-TERI efforts to promote environmentally sound technologies and best practices in India under IGES-TERI initiative Japan-India Technology Matchmaking Platform (JITMAP).

The presentation was given at a follow-up workshop on accelerating renewable energy deployment in SIDS, held in Fiji on 13-15 Dec. 2017. It highlighted the key outcomes of the training program on the similar topic held in Japan on Oct. 2017

本業務では、対象国における廃棄物管理に関するガイドライン策定への支援、廃棄物発電設備に係る発注仕様書の作成、廃棄物発電技術の海外展開に向けた戦略検討等アジア地域における３R 及び廃棄物の適正処理の推進のための事業を行った。 これら業務実施のため、インドネシア、タイ、フィリピン、ベトナム、マレーシア及びミャンマーで現地調査及び会議を開催するとともに、フィリピンでは第3 回環境政策対話を実施した。
