急速な経済発展と人口増加が進行するアジア太平洋地域において、持続可能な消費と生産（SCP）が喫緊の課題となっている。IGESでは2年に一度、アジア太平洋地域における重要な政策アジェンダに焦点を当てたIGES白書を発表しており、このたびSCPをテーマにIGESの研究活動を集大成した白書第3巻をとりまとめた。 アジア太平洋地域では、経済発展に伴い増加した都市部の新興中産階級を中心に、伝統的な消費行動からの転換が見られる。同地域の急増する人口が先進国同様の消費パターンを行うことは、限りある地球資源の面から不可能であり、一層の環境悪化を引き起こすことが予想される。そのため、先進国が現在の消費パターンを抜本的に見直すだけでなく、途上国においても持続可能な消費の道筋を模索する必要があると考えられる。...
