この最終報告書は、過去の3 年間にわたるプロジェクトの活動と成果をまとめたものである。レポートは4 つの部分に分かれており、環境教育の包括的な戦略を策定し、それを実現するためのメカニズムを開発する、という２つの目的をもって作成した。プロジェクトの中心的な活動は、(１)アジア太平洋地域における環境教育の全般的な状況を調査すること、(２)企業、NGO、メディア、高等教育を通じた環境教育研究、(３)アジア太平洋環境教育地域戦略の策定、である。当該地域の環境教育は優れた成功事例がある一方で、政策や協力の不足、旧来型のカリキュラム、暗記中心でテスト志向の教育、そして教育教材の不足といった改善すべき特徴がみとめられた。アジア太平洋環境教育地域戦略は、５つの行動計画を提案した。すなわち(１)能力の強化、...

気候変動(CC)プロジェクトは第1 期において、国連気候変動枠組条約（UNFCCC）のプロセスおよび京都議定書の流れに沿った政策提言を中心に研究を進めた。特に排出権取引やクリーン開発メカニズム(CDM)等の京都メカニズムについてのシステムデザイン、日本の国内温暖化対策の比較分析、北東アジア地域における協力の可能性分析に力を入れた。また、IGES内に設置されている気候変動に関する政府間パネル(IPCC) Inventory Task Force の技術支援ユニット（TSU）への支援として、アジア地域のGHG 排出インベントリーの精緻化のためにアジア地域の研究者ネットワークの構築を行った。 研究成果は、気候変動枠組条約締約国会議(FCCC COP)やFCCC...
