本業務では、令和3年における「G7気候・環境大臣会合、ジョイントワーキンググループ及び準備会合」及び「G20気候変動・エネルギー大臣会合及び準備会合」に関する支援等を行った。特に、会合の成果が気候変動政策の推進に資するよう、議論に必要となる資料の収集・分析、成果文書案の分析、報告書の作成等を行い、また同会合や準備会合等に関する支援等を行った。

令和４年は、インドネシアがG20議長国となり、８月に環境・気候持続可能性大臣会合及び10月にサミットが開催される予定となっている。また大臣会合に先立ち令和３年度内（３月）から準備会合が開催された。本業務では、令和３年度に開催された準備会合に関して、議事録、速報版、報告書の作成などを行った。また、同準備会合などに関する情報収集・分析などのサブスタンス支援を行った。

令和３年度は、英国がＧ７議長国、イタリアがＧ20議長国として、それぞれ環境大臣会合及びサミットが開催され、また環境大臣会合に先立ち準備会合が開催された。本年度のＧ７及びＧ20は、４月に「気候サミット」を開催するなど、気候変動対策に積極的な姿勢を見せてきたバイデン大統領を初めて迎えての開催となった会合であり、気候変動や関連する議題について、Ｇ７環境大臣会合（５月）及びＧ20環境大臣会合（７月）において野心的な内容に合意することが期待されていた。これらの成果や機運は、その後11月に英国によって開催される、国連気候変動枠組条約第26回締結国会議（COP26）に繋がることが望まれた。また、生物多様性分野では、同年の生物多様性条約（CBD）第15回締約国会議（COP15）にて...
