Certification as an entity using renewable energy in Kanagawa
Now fully powered by renewable energy, the IGES Hayama Headquarters is certified as an entity using renewable energy in Kanagawa.
IGES was granted the Eruboshi Grade 2 certification by the Minster of Health, Labour and Welfare in December 2019.
The Eruboshi company certification is a recognition system established along with the enforcement of the Act on Promotion of Women’s Participation and Advancement in the Workplace on 1 April, 2016. It has three grades which are determined based on a number of evaluation categories.
On March 30, 2020, IGES successfully obtained the Kurumin Certificate and has been updating its status ever since. Kurumin Certification, a system based on the Law for Measures to Support the Development of the Next Generation (or the Next Generation Law), certifies companies as supportive of child-rearing if they meet specific requirements, such as formulating and implementing action plans for employees to balance work and child-rearing.
Eco Action21 certification was granted to IGES Headquarters on 26 March 2012, and to IGES satellite offices (Tokyo Office, IGES-Japanese Center for International Studies in Ecology (JISE), Kansai Research Centre, Kitakyushu Urban Centre) on 17-18 April 2013. All offices were granted certification having been evaluated on their daily environmental actions.
