The Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) is an annual meeting convened by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), and aims to strengthen the region’s readiness for the United Nations’ High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). The website gathers a number of researchers’ expert briefings, as well as links to IGES-related events at the Forum.
This page assembles information on the annual Conference of the Parties (COP) of United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and its Subsidiary Bodies (SB). It will introduce recommendations, commentary, and articles from IGES, as well as updates on negotiations and side events, and translation of and observations about important reports and resolutions. The United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) is the world’s highest-level decision-making body on the environment, with a universal membership of all 193 Member States. The Assembly meets biennially in Nairobi, Kenya, to set priorities for global environmental policies and develop international environmental law. Through its ministerial declaration and resolutions, the Assembly provides leadership, catalyses intergovernmental action on the environment, and contributes to the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
