International agreements and targets on sustainability are achieved through policy implementation by individual countries. IGES supports policymaking that takes into account the development needs and unique challenges of countries across Asia, whilst providing recommendations from an integrated perspective to ensure that sectoral policies maintain consistency and create synergistic effects. Specifically, we participate in and support the development processes for: Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) regarding greenhouse gas emission reductions; National Adaptation Plans (NAPs); and National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs).
