JASTE36 Osaka Public Symposium "FIVE VISIONS“ Challenges of Nature Positive from a Tropical Perspective
日本熱帯生態学会第36回大会公開シンポジウム@大阪公立大学 近年、熱帯では小農が商業用農林産物の生産担い手として台頭している。 一方、商業用農林産物の生産拡大に伴う森林減少対策として、需要側アプローチ(Demand-side approach)による取組(認証、EUDR等)が拡大しているが、これらの取組は、効果検証が不十分なうえ、非効率、小農の排除につながる可能性がある。 いくつかの国では国家・準国家トレーサビリティシステム構築によって小農の需要側アプローチ対応を支援・包摂している。これらの取組は結果的にネーチャーポジティブ達成に貢献する可能性がある。

ベトナムにおいて、2023年には推定438-441万トンの木質ペレットが製造された。 中部の工場はほぼ原木のみで製造。北部・南部の工場の多くは原木・残渣の両方を使用 原木の調達地域は、北部・中部(人工林面積が大きい)から南部までの全域。南部ではゴムや果樹が重要な資源となっていると考えられる 原木調達先の一部は天然林の減少がおきている地域(北部、中央高原)であるため 、違法伐採・森林減少リスクを回避するためには、調達する原木に天然木が混入していないか確認することが望ましい
