Firm's Energy Saving Activities and the Determinant Factorss: A Survey Study in China

Event: 18th Annual Conference of European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists
Date: 29 June to 2 July

This study seeks to identify major determinant factors for the firms to practice energy saving activities and provides an empirical analysis in Taicang city of China. The identified drivers are partly supported by the econometric analysis. The energy performances of firms in the same sector and internal training significantly determine firm’s involvement of energy saving activities. Our study confirms that energy saving policy transformation in China is still at an early stage. The findings suggest that Chinese policy makers should provide economic incentives and especially technical support for the firms to have better energy saving practices.
