Bangalore, a rapidly urbanizing technological hub, faces escalating energy demands that require sustainable
solutions. This study uses Google Earth Engine to assess Bangalore's solar energy potential through geospatial
modeling and advanced suitability analysis. Utilizing high-resolution geospatial data, this study analyzed environmental
and topographical factors, including solar radiation, land use, aerosol stability, and surface topography,
to understand the potential for solar energy generation. The analysis revealed solar energy potential for
the study area, with an average solar radiation of 39,000 kW/m²/year and minimal variability, indicating a
stable environment for solar energy deployment. Approximately 547.11 km² of urban built-up areas have been
identified as suitable for rooftop solar installations, offering opportunities to enhance renewable energy infrastructure.
This research optimizes the identification of zones for solar panel placement, using predictive modeling,
thereby providing critical insights for policymakers and urban planners.
