Food price volatility is an important impact of transboundary climate risks. However, food prices tend to mix with many other events extraneous to agriculture making their prediction a difficult task. This presentation presents a case study of 2008 and 2012 global food price crisis and provides insights in terms of their transboundary nature, the impacts of the event, and some off-the-shelf adaptation initiatives that can help address such future crisis.
