Biofuels continue to attract countries in Asia due to various driving forces that include energy security, development and environmental benefits. While biofuels do offer these benefits to a certain extent, they are not free from caveats. There is an increasing debate that these caveats could be tackled through a global climate change framework that enables producing biofuels sustainably. This presentation identifies some of the enabling conditions necessary for a future climate change framework to help produce biofuels sustainably.
