Insights of the Report
Vantaa’s 2025 Voluntary Local Review (VLR), entitled Sustainable Vantaa Belongs to Everyone, is the city's third report. Following a 2021 decision to institutionalise biennial reporting, this edition continues to align local strategic planning with the 2030 Agenda. Vantaa integrates the SDGs into its city strategy by organising them into strategic themes, enabling stronger ties between sustainable development and municipal governance.
The 2025 VLR was prepared through a collaborative process involving representatives from all sectors of the city organisation. It showcases selected examples of good practices under each strategic theme, while recognising that a wide range of sustainability efforts are underway across the city. Vantaa’s approach demonstrates its ongoing commitment to the social, economic and environmental dimensions of sustainable development, not only locally but also in collaboration with broader networks.
