Stuttgart
Stuttgart – A Livable City. The global 2030 Agenda at local level. 4th Voluntary Local Review
Insights of the Report
Stuttgart’s fourth Voluntary Local Review (VLR) presents a comprehensive and data-rich account of the city’s progress toward the SDGs, grounded in the national "SDG Indicators for Municipalities" framework. Structured indicator-by-indicator, the report draws on data from 2010 to 2024, with trends contextualised through local targets, definitions and methods adapted to the Stuttgart context. The 2025 edition introduces several new elements: a direct link between each indicator and its corresponding SDG target, new small-scale data at the district level, fifteen new indicators, and a new index to improve monitoring granularity. Through this evolving approach, the city deepens its commitment to evidence-based, locally grounded sustainable development planning.
