Pittsburgh’s VLR builds upon the work of the “City of Pittsburgh Preliminary Resilience Assessment,” including the SDGs to provide a holistic vision to address the city’s pressing issues. Through this exercise, the VLR helps to identify synergies and co-benefits across different strategies. This first VLR also works as a baseline report against to which measure progress towards achieving the SDGs in the future. It also helps to identify gaps in the city’s current policies in order to devise additional strategies to accelerate the localisation of the SDGs.
