Collaborative Actions to Overcome Stunting for a Transformative, Progressive and Prosperous North Kalimantan

Insights of the Report

The VLR was developed based on the issue of stunting which is one the priorities of national and local governments. According to a survey of the status of nutrition in Indonesia (SSGI), North Kalimantan is facing a high prevalence rate for stunting of around 22.1% in 2022. As such, it is important and urgent for various stakeholders of the local development to actively be engaged and support to accelerate reduction of stunting prevalence. Considering this context and recognising the diverse experience learned from collaborative partnerships, various stakeholders have worked together to overcome the stunting issue with the aim of achieving the SDGs targets. The North Kalimantan Provincial Government adopted the theme of “Collaborative Actions to Overcome Stunting for a Transformative, Progressive and Prosperous North Kalimantan” in its VLR for 2023. The focus of this VLR was mainly on four goals related to stunting: No Poverty (SDG1), No Hunger (SDG2), Health and Wellbeing (SDG3), and Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG6).
