Assigned as Program Manager of Paris Agreement Article 6 Implementation Partnership (A6IP) Center in October 2023, and dedicated to various coordination works as the secretariat of A6IP. So far, over 10 years he has dedicated the work on Climate Change Adaptation/ Disaster Risk Reduction DRR; more recently with JICAーrelated works- in the Philippines (2011-17), Myanmar (2017-20) as a Project Formulation Advisor on DRR, Environmental Management and Media sector, and in the Caribbean Region (2021-23) as an Individual JICA Expert/ Policy advisor on Comprehensive DRR for the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) based in Barbados.
While working in the actual field of climate change adaptation, he has often heard from clients about the importance of an integrated approach between adaptation and climate change mitigation in developing countries, graduated countries as the ODA recipient, and SIDS (Small Island Developing States), so he decided to join A6IP as a center to work together with the Center members and IGES researchers in working towards "high integrity carbon markets" which is the basis of Article 6.
He has a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Business Law from Yokohama National University and an LLM from Keele University (UK). Since September 2017, he has also served as the visiting associate professor for the Advanced Disaster Prevention Engineering Centre of Nagoya Institute of Technology. Born in Saga City, Saga Prefecture/ raised in the suburb (South Tama area) of Tokyo Metropolitan area.
