Thelma Tsungirirayi MAHACHI

Thelma Mahachi has over 10 years of expertise in sustainability. Currently, she serves as the Regional Team Lead for Sub-Saharan Africa at A6IP, where she plays a pivotal role in building the capacity of regional partners to implement Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. Her responsibilities also include promoting collaboration with various carbon market stakeholders across Africa. 

Prior to her role at IGES, she worked as a corporate sustainability consultant, specializing in advisory services for cooperate sustainability reporting and compliance with environmental regulations. She also has experience working with the Zimbabwean government in wildlife management, where she focused on biodiversity conservation and integrating climate change considerations into national policies.

She holds a Master of Science in Sustainability from the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Studies in Sustainability (UNU-IAS) and a Joint Diploma in Sustainability Science from the University of Tokyo Graduate Programme in Sustainability Science (GPSS-GLI).
