Dr. Tomoki Yagasaki is working for IGES-Japanese Center for International Studies in Ecology (JISE) and promoting hands-on activities for environmental education and nature restoration mainly in Japan and some Asian countries by vegetation ecological approach. In addition, he is currently working for Natural Resources and Ecosystem Services team (IGES-NRE), participating in joint research led by the IGES-NRE, and promoting collaborative research on restoration of degraded lands and forests in Lao PDR, aiming at regeneration of native / secondary forests and plantations in Southeast Asia. Furthermore, he is also working for the projects aiming at rehabilitation of degraded mining areas in the Philippines in collaboration with non-profit organizations in Japan and the Philippines.
