APCSプロジェクトの過去3年間にわたる活動および成果を総括する場となった本シンポジウムでは、気候安全保障が抱える課題と機会について議論し、アジア太平洋地域の地政学的状況の変化の中で、気候安全保障が引き続き持つ意義について検討した。さらに、今後刊行予定の「APCS政策レポート」の紹介を通じて、本プロジェクトから得られた知見や洞察を、国内外の研究者、関連する政策立案者、および気候安全保障分野に関心を持つステークホルダーに広め、批判的に検討する場ともなった。
