Policy Researcher
Faris Salman joined the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) in 2024 as a policy researcher. His expertise includes analyzing sustainability transformations, exploring the co-evolution between social innovations and socio-technical regimes, understanding enabling factors, and identifying possible pathways to transition from unsustainable to a more sustainable governance pattern.
Before IGES, he worked as a consultant in EYSN CCaSS, assisting in corporate sustainability disclosure and circular economy accounts. He also experienced the application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and spatial modeling techniques to support environmental management and land use planning efforts in palm oil plantation settings. He is also experienced in quantifying GHG emission reductions and removals from avoiding unplanned and planned deforestation and forest degradation (VM0007) in a peat swamp forest setting.
