Naoki MORI

Mr. Naoki Mori currently leads Finance Task Force as program director. The Task Force idevelops policy recommendations on financial mobilization for implementation of the 2030 Agenda including SDGs and Climate Change, in particular, from private financial institutions and investors. For exapmle, the Task Force has been engaged in development and revision of the guidelines of Green bond, Green loan, Sustainability linked bond and Sustainability linked loan by Ministry of the Environment of Japan.
He is a former member of Technology Executive Committee under UNFCCC from 2107 to 2021, whose mandate is to provide policy recommendation to UNFCCC member countries on technology development and transfer in the field of climate adaptation and mitigation.
Before joining IGES, Mr. Mori was engaged in Official Development Assistance (ODA) for more than 30 years in the field of financial and technical cooperation in developing countries through Japan International Cooperation agency (JICA) and Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC). He experienced in various technical and capacity building projects in environmental management including climate change, such as program lending for climate chnage in Vietnam and capacity development on waste managment and water treatment in many devloping countires.
He received the National Friendship Award from the Chinese government in 2005, and the Distinguished Service Award from the Vietnamese government in 2013 respectively for his achievements as environment expert.
He studies at Osaka University in Japan, and holds master degree in environmental engineering.
