Commissioned Report

The resilience perspective is becoming more important in a world facing the escalating impacts of climate change and natural disasters. There is an increasing emphasis on resilience as a key element of sustainable development and the importance of strengthening resilience and promoting sustainable development in order to reduce social and economic vulnerability and reduce disaster risk. In addition, wellbeing perspectives are also becoming more important. In considering the redesign policies examined in this study, the establishment of a decentralised society with a community of a scale, where the bonds between its members can be felt, emerges as a core issue from the perspective of wellbeing. It has been pointed out that human connections and social ties have an important impact on individual psychological health and that the richness of human relationships leads to reduced stress and emotional stability. In addition, through empathy and shared experiences, human connections increase individual significance and self-worth, leading to greater satisfaction and happiness.
From the perspective of biodiversity conservation and pandemic countermeasures, as well as the role played in improving wellbeing by communities where people can feel a sense of bonding, a decentralised society where people can work freely and flexibly, where it is easy to balance work, family and childcare, and where communication and collaboration with metropolitan areas in various forms is possible even in rural areas, is consistent with the social vision of a resilient and sustainable decarbonised, circular and decentralised society in the post-colona society.
