葉山町長者ヶ崎ブルーカーボン実証研究の概要について

ブルーカーボンによる藻場等の再生は、海洋生態系の回復に繋がるだけでなく、浜に打ち上げられるラックや貝殻等を通じた栄養塩等の供給を通じて、植生の復活、海岸浸食の抑制、砂浜の再生に大きく寄与します。
同時に、健全な炭素循環を担うものとして気候変動の抑制に寄与するものです。こうしたブルーカーボンの多機能に着目して、２０２４年１０月１７日、葉山町にて、漁業者、企業、市民、自治体の幅広いネットワークづくりを目指してシンポジウムを開催いたしました。

The regeneration of seaweed beds and other habitats through blue carbon not only leads to the recovery of marine ecosystems but also greatly contributes to the revival of vegetation, the suppression of coastal erosion, and the regeneration of sandy beaches through the supply of nutrients and other elements from wrack and shells washed ashore. Simultaneously, it contributes to the mitigation of climate change as it plays a role in healthy carbon cycling. Focusing on these multifunctional aspects of blue carbon, we held a symposium in Hayama Town on October 17, 2024, aiming to build a broad network of fishermen, businesses, citizens, and local governments.
