This paper explains basic principles of economic analysis, in particular cost benefit analysis, and clarifies pros and cons of partial equilibrium and general equilibrium approach. Based on this understanding this paper proposes appropriate application of computable general equilibrium analysis to support environmental policy formulation and points out future tasks.
