2012年8月気候変動会議がバンコクで開催され、REDD+に関しては資金に関する交渉が第15回AWG-LCAにおいて行われた。REDD+で市場メカニズムを活用するかどうかについては合意ができていないものの、カーボンマーケット以外のアプローチも視野に入れながら、REDD+の最終フェーズにおいて適切にカーボンマーケットを活用し資金調達するために必要な条件や制度設計に関する意見が交わされた。これまでのREDD+の交渉では、森林分野特有のルールをより詳細に作り上げることに尽力してきた。しかし、資金メカニズムの面では他のアジェンダとの協調をはかることが重要になる。今後は、より具体的になってくる将来の気候変動緩和対策の全体のフレームワークと資金メカニズムの中で、森林分野（A/RやREDD+...
