2014年12月にペルーのリマで開催されたCOP20では、第41回実施に関する補助機関会合・科学と技術的助言に関する補助機関会合(SBI/SBSTA41)において、REDD+に関する交渉が行われた。REDD+のリザルトベースの支払いを実施するための核となるルールは、2013年ポーランドで開催されたCOP19において、REDD+ワルシャワフレームワークとして採択され完成したが、ワルシャワフレームワークを補完する事項や、REDD+に関連する内容の議論が続いている。
