The International Forum for Sustainable Asia and the Pacific (ISAP) is an international forum where leading experts, international organisations, governments, businesses, and NGOs gather to discuss various aspects of sustainable development in Asia and the Pacific. ISAP is held annually in Japan to promote information sharing and strengthen collaboration among stakeholders, in cooperation with the international network of the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), the host organisation.
At this juncture where multilateralism stands at a crossroads, responses to the triple crisis facing our planet—climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution—are lagging, leaving our society in a more uncertain state than ever before. ISAP2025, with its main theme ‘Our World in Flux: How to Shape a Sustainable Future through Just Transition’, featured speakers from diverse backgrounds sharing practical ideas and insights. Discussions deepened on how to move beyond siloed responses to the interconnected sustainability challenges, strengthen synergistic approaches, and advance the transition to a sustainable society in a just manner.
