The 18th International Forum for Sustainable Asia and the Pacific (ISAP2026) - "Strengthening Local Resilience to Planetary Crises: Scaling up Synergistic Solutions"

IGES is set to host the 18th International Forum for Sustainable Asia and the Pacific (ISAP2026). For the first time, ISAP will be held in Kansai under the overall theme, 'Strengthening Local Resilience to Planetary Crises: Scaling up Synergistic Solutions'. The Plenary Sessions (hybrid) will take place on Wednesday, 22 July 2026, at the Lasse Hall in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, while the Thematic Tracks will be held online from August to October 2026.
ISAP2026 will highlight the latest international trends related to synergies, and provide an opportunity to explore how synergistic approaches can be implemented locally and internationally, thereby broadening the circle of synergy.

Asia Waste Methane Comparative Analysis Webinar (5 June)
 To address methane emissions in Asia, experts from six Asian countries (China, Indonesia, India, Japan, Malaysia and Republic of Korea) conducted a comparative analysis on national emission profiles, policy frameworks and implementation barriers. This webinar will present the common gaps that were identified, as well as cross-cutting themes and pathways for coordinated regional cooperation. Furthermore, participants will discuss the scaling approach, financing mechanisms and collaboration opportunities to support waste methane mitigation in Asia.
