IGES Wins Special Award Category of the Hayama Ethical Awards 2026

IGES has been honoured with the Special Award, one of the categories of the annual Hayama Ethical Awards, which are part of Hayama Ethical Action run by Hayama Town, Kanagawa Prefecture. The awards recognise organisations and individuals working towards a better future for Hayama and the world, evaluating impact, sustainability, originality, collaboration and transparency.
IGES will continue to advance policy research and work towards sustainable practices by collaborating closely with local communities.

 The event convened leading voices from across sectors to explore compelling case studies and actionable policy recommendations, spotlighting synergistic approaches to accelerate the implementation of SDGs. With a particular focus on the Asia-Pacific region, discussions drew on insights from the Asia-Pacific Synergy Report and session exchanges to advance integrated solutions for achieving the Goals.

Behaviour Lab: Scaling Behaviour Change - Plastic Reduction from Local Actions to Policy Pathways (10 February)
 The Behaviour Lab is a multi-partner platform committed to applying behavioural science to reduce plastic consumption and waste in the ASEAN region. This event brought to life how community-level behaviour change initiatives--particularly from Bali--are translating local action into policy impact. Participants shared innovative grassroots solutions and reflected on how these efforts can inform policymaking at the local, national and regional levels. The conversation surfaced practical pathways for scaling behavioural interventions to strengthen plastic and waste reduction efforts across the ASEAN region.
