2015年に合意された2つの国際的な取り決め、すなわち「持続可能な開発目標（SDGs）を含む持続可能な開発のための2030アジェンダ」と気候変動枠組み条約加盟国による「パリ協定」を踏まえて国際社会が目指す持続可能な社会経済実現の鍵として，「持続可能な消費と生産（SCP）」，とりわけOne Planet Living（地球一個分の暮らし）を目指す取り組みの強化を軸に、国際協力のあり方を再編成することを提案した。とくに、中長期的に目指すべき持続可能な社会を各国や地域社会で実現する取り組みのモデルづくりを支援すること、望ましい社会に向けた進展を測る共通指標を持つこと、さらに多様な取り組みの経験を、先進国と途上国という別を問わずに共有する政策対話のプラットフォームを持つことを提案した。

SDGs やパリ協定の実施へ向けて開発協力のあり方は大きな転換点にある。SDGs における目標間のトレードオフおよび両合意による大幅な低炭素化・資源効率性の向上という要請を踏まえ、途上国・新興国・先進国それぞれにおいてライフスタイルやビジネスモデルを含めた経済社会と生産・消費パターンの変革が求められている。本論説では、SDGs とパリ協定の達成へ向けた開発協力の今後の展望として、（１）指標の設計、（２）調整・統合された戦略・計画、（２）持続可能な都市やコミュニティのモデルプロジェクト実施、（４）戦略的持続可能性アセスメントの導入に関する４点を提言した。 The mode of the conventional development cooperation is at the turning...

The workshop to launch S-16 project in Asia was organised in October 20-21, 2016. Ryu Koide made a presentation on the mapping of the past and on-going research projects related to Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) in other regions with a case study of EU projects.
