Dwayne APPLEBY

Dwayne Appleby joined IGES in 2020.  He has worked for more than 12 years on issues of sustainable consumption and production at the local, national, regional, and global levels.  Dwayne has a strong background in international development, sustainable lifestyles, political economy, innovation, and demographics.  He has worked in North America and Southeast Asia to support businesses, financial institutions, and local governments in developing policies that support the emergence of an enabling environment for sustainable lifestyles.  His current work focuses on behavioural change, identifying and supporting successful strategies to shift consumer and producer behaviours toward more sustainable and just patterns, and working with governments to foster the emergence of policies that foster innovative approaches to sustainable behaviour change.

Dwayne holds an MSc. in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science where his research focused on global innovation systems and solar panel production in China, and a BA(hons) in International Studies from Simon Fraser University where his work focused on sustainable and just agricultural trade and development in East Africa.
