Climate change is one of the most important and pressing issues in the SDGs and strongly linked with other Goals. Our current actions against climate change will have a profound and lasting impact on the future of humanity and the environment. Cities and regions stand at the forefront of the challenges of climate change and are aware of the need to take action to achieve decarbonisation and transform our world. By localising the SDGs, cities can redefine the sustainability of their areas from a longer perspective, strengthen partnerships between cities and regions, and offer mutual support to each other by optimising synergies and trade-offs, making it possible to further enhance urban sustainability and resilience. This event will focus on the diverse actions of cities and regions and localisation of SDGs including indicators that can lead to decarbonisation, as well as on the links between cities and regions. It aims to provide an opportunity to learn from each other about advanced cases and gain knowledge on achieving the SDGs that can be applied to other cities around the world.
