COP30 Japan Pavilion Seminar

Accelerating Synergistic Solutions to the Triple Planetary Crisis - The Power of Business

17 November 2025, 23:30-1:00 (JST) / 17 November 2025, 11:30-13:00 (BRT)

At the sixth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-6) in February 2023, the Government of Japan submitted and secured adoption of a landmark resolution on synergies.

Building on this momentum, MOEJ and IGES, in collaboration with ESCAP, ADB and UNEP, announced at APFSD 2025 the launch of the Asia-Pacific Synergy Report. Co-led by ESCAP, ADB and UNEP, the report marks a regional milestone; its first authors’ meeting was convened in Manila in July 2025, and it will be submitted to the ESCAP Committee on Environment and Development (CED-9) in Bangkok in July 2026.

This seminar will spotlight the vital role of business in advancing synergistic solutions to the triple planetary crisis. Business leaders at the forefront of innovation will share insights and experiences, offering practical pathways and inspiration for collective action. Looking ahead, the Government of Japan intends to table a follow-up resolution on synergies at UNEA-7 in December 2025. Join us to help shape this global agenda - where business leadership and international policy converge to accelerate transformative change.
