Dr. Sudarmanto Budi Nugroho obtained his PhD degree from Graduate School for International Development and Cooperation (IDEC), Hiroshima University in Japan on the Integrated Study on Urban Air Quality in Transportation System of Jakarta City. He is lead author for chapter 10 (Transport Sector) and also drafting team members of the Summary for Policy Makers (SPM) of the Working Group 3 (Mitigation) of the IPCC Assessment Report 6th. After serving as Assistant Professor for the Global Environmental Leader education program at the Graduate School for International Development and Cooperation, Hiroshima University, he started working for IGES in Hayama Headquarter, Yokohama-Japan in 2013. He specialize in low-carbon transport studies and urban air pollution studies in developing cities. His current research topics includes developing four steps co-benefit approaches in Asian Cities, decarbonisation of transport sector, disruptive technology on transport sector, environmentally sustainable transport in Asian Cities, MRV methodology of transport sector, informal transit system in developing cities, climate policies in transport sector in developing cities, Urban transport resilient and Promoting city to city cooperation between Japanese and Southeast Asian Cities.
