IGES is honoured to be one of the organising partners of Thailand Ocean Week 2025, a UN Ocean Conference (UNOC) official virtual side event hosted across Bangkok, Koh Chang, and other coastal cities. This nationwide event brings together over 50 organisations across government agencies, international development partners, academia, civil society, creative artists, private sector, and community leaders to spotlight diverse, ground-up solutions to address the triple planetary crisis.
IGES Highlights at the Event:
Ocean-Climate-Biodiversity Forum (BACC, Bangkok)
On 11 June, IGES presents insights on the impact of plastic pollution on coastal-marine ecosystems and the blue economy. Drawing from its regional engagement on marine plastic solutions, the presentation highlights key challenges and pathways to reduce plastic leakage and promote sustainable ocean economies.
This forum also features contributions from ADB, GIZ, IUCN, ChangeFusion, and other partners, strengthening collective efforts to advance SDG 14 and the 30x30 Ocean Protection Goal.
