Launch of the OECD Environmental Performance Review of Japan

The Ministry of the Environment, Japan (MOEJ), in collaboration with the City of Yokohama, is hosting a public event on Friday, 21 March, to mark the release of the OECD Environmental Performance Review of Japan. The OECD Environmental Performance Review assesses the efforts on environmental protection of member countries, providing recommendations for further improvement. This represents Japan’s first review in 15 years.

At the event, the OECD presented key findings from the report, followed by an expert panel discussion. The discussion explored “Synergies toward GX (Green Transformation) and the use of place-based approaches (community-based initiatives),” a key theme highlighted in the report as a distinctive feature of Japan’s environmental efforts.
