Joined the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) in 1999. After working in the administrative division, she moved to the research support division, where she was responsible for international cooperation projects with Kanagawa Prefecture (Thailand and Viet Nam) and for organising stakeholder dialogues with the private sector. In 2003, she joined the IGES Tokyo Office and served as a member of the secretariat of the Asia-Pacific Forum for Environment and Development (APFED), chaired by the late former Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto.
From 2006, she worked in the Programme Management Office, coordinating high-level international events including arrangements for the visit of former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, the Climate Change Roundtable with former Danish Minister for the Environment Connie Hedegaard, and a series of International Forums for Sustainable Asia and the Pacific (ISAP). She also supported the formulation of IGES’s Integrated Strategic Research Programme.
Since 2011, she has served as a research staff member in the Climate Policy Group and the Green Economy Group, acting as secretariat for the International Research Network for Low-Carbon Societies, which now operates as the Leveraging a Climate-neutral Society Strategic Research Network (LCS-RNet). Through this network, she has promoted knowledge sharing by conducting surveys of advanced European initiatives, preparing interview articles, translations, and organising annual meetings.
She is also the Secretary-General of the Low Carbon Asia Research Network (LoCARNet) and a member of the Asia-Pacific Integrated Model (AIM) project team, engaging in science–policy dialogues, capacity building, and knowledge sharing to support decarbonisation policy development in multiple Asian countries.
Regarding climate citizens’ assemblies, she has disseminated information for their introduction in Japan based on studies of advanced European practices and was involved in the design and implementation of the Suginami Climate Citizens’ Assembly in Tokyo.
She has been affiliated with the Strategic Management Office since 2017 and holds a master’s degree in social sciences.
