In collaboration with the Partnerships in Environmental Management for the Seas of East Asia (PEMSEA), we are currently implementing a regional project on the State of River Basin (SORB) Reporting for river basins in ASEAN countries, with the objective of promoting effective implementation of integrated river basin management (IRBM) in the region.
Indicators for Assessing the Performance of IRBM
We are currently facilitating the development of a standardised and harmonised set of indicators for assessing the performance of IRBM programmes and initiatives, paving the way for the establishment of Guidelines for the State of River Basin Reporting System in ASEAN nations. This project will hopefully result in a valuable tool to promote sustainable water management and monitor progress toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in the region. In addition, our team also initiated research on lentic water system management, focusing on lakes in Japan.
